Custom IoT ePaper Display
E-paper is a technology that can be applied in the Internet of Things (IoT) applications. This picture shows an example IoT application that takes advantage of the e-paper display HINK-E029A01. The entire application consists of three Wi-Fi nodeMCU modules, two sensors (humidity, pressure, and temperature), and an EPD display with the EPD-COMPACT-DEMO-UH board provided by our technology partner, Unisystem. Such an application can be used in both home and industrial automation projects – for example, as part of the air conditioning or furnace controller.
Note that one of the Wi-Fi modules is connected to the display using the SPI interface and functions as a data server. The other modules are connected to the sensors via I2C and transmit the environmental information to the server wirelessly. The processed information is then presented on display and transmitted through the Wi-Fi connection to the cloud. That’s where you can manage it with a simple CMS.
